Veja Shoes: Campo vs. Venturi

If you haven't been spotting Veja Shoes exponentially since the last couple of years, you might want to pay a visit to your ophthalmologist. Ever since Meghan Markle decided to wear a pair of V-10's a couple of years back, this gorgeous sustainable trainers have made their way into many many fashionable feet.

Last spring, I finally gave in and bought my first pair of Vejas, after hours of online investigation, I decided to go for the Campo's in pastel pink. For my first pair I really wanted something classic that could give a break to my Nike Air Force1's. I was between the Campo and the Esplar models, which are very similar, they both have the same clean leathery look with an optional pop of color in it's emblematic "V", still after trying on an Esplar pair, (the only pair I could find of Vejas after a day of looking for them in every store possible) and realizing how flat it was, I decided to go with the Campo.

Don't get me wrong, the Esplar's were comfortable but the fit felt like an hybrid between a pair of Converse and Adidas' Stan Smiths ... a little too flat for my preference. The Campo's, on the other hand, ended up fitting a little more like Nike's Air Force1, still not as cushy or elevated. A very important thing for you to know if you're eying your first pair of Veja's is that you definitely need to break them in, and it takes about 3 to 5 days to have them mold around the shape of your feet just fine, specially this rather flat models.

Obviously I had like 10 outfits styled in my mind just waiting for my new shoes to arrive, and as soon as they did (which was astoundingly fast, Farfetch delivers!) I became in love with them. So versatile, comfortable, and in my opinion, the perfect tennis shoe to give any casual outfit an extra classy pop, perfect for the office and the weekends. My favorite combos are wearing them with my flared white jeans and short summer dresses or skirts.

Once I had a taste of the amazing quality behind Veja Shoes, I started eying my next pair. This second purchase was influenced by one of my favorite fashion bloggers, Emma Hothersall. I had my doubts about the dad shoes look, but Veja's take on this trend is equal parts chunky and girly which made me gift myself a nice pair of new Venturi's for my birthday. This pair is definitely less dressy but more comfy, perfect for athleisure looks and a more casual style, being such a statement that complete looks can be created just around them.

The brand has international production based on Brazil, Peru and France, and uses the best quality materials. The canvas and laces are made of 100% organic cotton, cultivated without any chemicals or pesticides; its soles are made of 20 - 30% of Amazonian rubber, which helps enhance the economic value of the forest while protecting it against deforestation. The rest? 100% recycled materials to create innovative meshes, and of course, C.W.L, a vegan alternative to leather.

All in all, after owning my pairs for about 3 months, I really recommend getting yourself a pair of Veja Shoes, it's quality, resources and design, in my opinion, is definitely worth the investment, and they'll become statement pieces in your wardrobe for years to come.
